Real screens, from the real application

Every screenshot below is a capture of InGrafiti running, not a mock-up. The cut-out on the Remove background tab was produced by the application on this machine, offline, in about a second.

A real editor, and the picture gets most of itThe tool strip on the left, five panel groups on the right that fold away, and a search bar in the menu bar that finds any of the 343 tools and commands by name. The AI menu is the one in colour, because it is what people are looking for.
Every tool explains itselfWhat it is for in one line, and how to drive it a click away, at the top of the tool's own panel rather than on a status bar nobody reads. Forty-seven of them. The ten brush tips are pictures rather than a list of names, and the panel floats over the picture instead of pushing it aside.
Selections that find the edge for youThe Magnetic Lasso snaps onto the edge that is really there, Quick Selection grows from one click to the whole object, and Object Selection takes the thing you point at. Escape drops a selection, and there is a button on the picture saying so.
Sixteen features, grouped by what you want doneNot by which model happens to run. The models ship inside the installer, so there is no download the first time you use one, and every feature here works with the network cable out.
A real cut-out, in about a second, on your own processorThe checkerboard is genuine transparency. The subject comes back on a layer with a MASK rather than being rubbed out, so the edge stays editable - paint the mask to bring any of it back.
Layers that behave like layersPixel, text, shape, adjustment, fill and group layers, all 27 blend modes, masks with density and feather, clipping masks, locks and layer styles. PSD and PSB files open and save with theirs intact.
Fifty filters, previewed on the pictureNot in a thumbnail the size of a stamp. The preview runs on the canvas at the zoom you are working at, so what you judge is what you get.
Sixteen adjustments, each one an editable layerCurves, Levels, Hue and Saturation, Colour Balance, Selective Colour and the rest. Add one as a layer and the numbers stay editable for as long as the file exists.
It tells you the file size before you saveLive, as you move the quality slider, so choosing a setting is a decision rather than a guess and a second go.
How It Works

Install it, open a photo, and that is the setup

1

One installer

It carries everything, including the machine-learning models. No Python to set up, no runtime to add, and no model download the first time you use a feature.

2

Open anything

PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, BMP, ICO, TGA, layered PSD and PSB, and camera RAW from forty-odd makes.

3

Work offline

Pull the network cable out and everything still works, the sixteen AI features included. The only request it ever makes is an optional check for a newer version.

The part that usually costs a subscription

Sixteen AI features. None of them phone home.

The features every online editor charges for are the ones that most obviously should not involve sending somebody your photographs.

  • Remove backgroundCut the subject out and leave it transparent
  • Change backgroundPut the subject on a colour or another picture
  • Blur backgroundA portrait look, with a live preview

People

  • Retouch a portraitSmooth skin and keep the texture
  • Restore a faceSharpen a small or blurred face

Make it better

  • Reduce noiseClean up a grainy phone picture

  • RelightMove the light around the subject

Choose part of the picture

  • Select subjectSelect whatever the photo is of
  • Select an objectClick a thing and select just that
  • Smart reframeCrop to a new shape, keeping the subject
What it does

A real editor, not a filter app

Layers that behave

Pixel, text, shape, adjustment, fill and group layers. All 27 blend modes, masks with density and feather, clipping masks, locks and layer styles. Layers keep the pixels you move off the canvas.

Selections that find the edge

Magnetic Lasso, Quick Selection and Object Selection, plus Colour Range, Quick Mask, feather, expand, contract, grow, similar, and selections saved as channels.

Retouching with options

Spot Healing with three ways to fill a hole: copy the nearest clean texture, weave a new one, or use the inpainting model. Patch works content-aware, with no drag at all.

Opens what your camera makes

Camera RAW from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Adobe DNG and around forty more, asking about white balance and exposure rather than guessing.

Every tool explains itself

What it is for in one line, and how to drive it a click away, at the top of the tool's own panel rather than on a status bar nobody reads.

Bring your own

Fonts, brush tips, colour look-up tables and adjustment presets drop into a folder and appear next start. Nothing is installed into Windows, so it needs no administrator.

The part nobody else prints

What the AI cannot do

Enlarging is roughly a minute per megapixel. It is the slow one, so it tells you the size and the time before it starts, and it can be cancelled rather than leaving you watching a bar.

Object removal works at 512 pixels internally, on a crop it takes around the hole. Taking a lamp post out of a 12 megapixel photograph is excellent; taking out a building is not, and the result comes back softer than its surroundings. The application says so rather than letting you find out.

  • It runs on your processor. No GPU is required and none is shipped. That keeps the installer to a couple of hundred megabytes instead of two gigabytes, and it means the features work on any machine that runs Windows.
  • Nothing leaves the machine. No account, no telemetry, no analytics. One optional update check, and switching it off means it never touches the network at all.
  • Your work is recoverable. Undo with a History panel, snapshots you can name and paint back to with the History Brush, and crash recovery that brings back unsaved work after a power cut.
  • It is honest about file formats. A PSD using something InGrafiti cannot reproduce exactly opens with a note saying which parts were approximated, rather than quietly looking wrong.

Edit your photos. Keep them.

Free, offline, and self-contained. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Nothing else to install.

Some anti-virus products block the download because the installer is not yet signed with a code-signing certificate. The zip version is there as a workaround.
